Delete your account
Last updated 12 October 2026
You can delete your Studdle account and your data yourself, in the app, or ask us to. This page says how, what is erased, and the little that is kept for a while, and why.
In the app
Open Studdle and go to Settings, then Account, then Delete account. Type your password to confirm. This works on iOS, Android and the web.
Your Pro subscription, if you have one, ends with your account. Within 14 days of your first payment, you can still ask us for a full refund.
By e-mail
If you cannot sign in, or would rather ask us, send an e-mail from the address of your account: support@studdle.fr
We may ask you to confirm that it is you. We then delete the account for you, and we answer within one month.
What happens next
You lose access right away, on every device. For 30 days your subjects, cards and progress are kept: if you change your mind in that time, write to support@studdle.fr and we can put them back. After 30 days your account and what is in it are erased for good, apart from what is listed below.
What is erased: your profile and sign-in, your own subjects with their chapters, cards, quizzes and exams, the images you uploaded, your conversations with Pebble and what it remembers about you, your progress, streaks and achievements, your friends and your settings.
Cards you added to someone else’s subject stay in that subject, with no name on them.
What we keep, and for how long
Backups. We keep them to recover from a failure. The files you uploaded are backed up every night, encrypted, and we keep 7 daily and 4 weekly copies, so a deleted file leaves the backups within 5 weeks. The database can be restored to any point in the last 6 hours.
Payments. Stripe keeps payment and invoice records itself, as accounting law requires, for ten years. The personal data in the payment notices we store (name, e-mail address, postal address, phone number, card details and other customer details) is removed when your account is erased, and from every notice older than 90 days.
E-mail blocks. If an address bounced or was reported as spam, we keep the address and the reason so that we do not write to it again, including after your account is erased.
Server logs. We keep them to limit abuse and diagnose faults. They hold the IP address, the time, the request and, if you were signed in, your account id. They are rotated by size and cleared at every deployment. Error reports are kept for 30 days.
The waitlist. If you also joined the pre-launch waitlist, that is separate from an account: write to us and we remove your address. Waitlist addresses are deleted once the invites are sent, or sooner on request.
